Sunday Sewing

I started working on the Metro Rings Quilt this weekend. It is another Quick Curve Ruler pattern designed by Sew Kind of Wonderful. I just finished the Metro Hoops top and I was chomping at the bit to start this quilt. I am using a Joel Dewberry Notting Hill jellyroll. Both the Metro Hoops and Rings pattern use jellyrolls.

This quilt is coming together quickly and I am kind of excited to get the top done, so I hope to get it done soon.

In the Hoop

I’m sure you all can tell that I kinda dig this Quick Curve Ruler thing. I broke into some stash yesterday and started work on the new Metro Hoops pattern. I’m using a Simply Color jellyroll. I know I sound like I am a QCR sponsor, but I can’t get enough of it. (Seriously can’t figure out how people come up with such ingenious things.) I have at least four more quilts planned in my queue using Sew Kind of Wonderful’s patterns and ruler and this will be the 4th quilt I have made from her patterns. She is having a quilt-along starting next week to make her Medallion Quilt.
I know my friend and I are gathering our fabric now so we can join in. I think you should join in, too. It’ll be fun.

Sewing Sunday

As soon as I saw this quilt, I wanted to make it.

It looks like my featherweight just threw up a rainbow doesn’t it!

I got half pieced together today, but I think I am going to save the rest for next Sunday. It is made using this free pattern.

Finish Daisy Chain…Check

I gave you a peek of my latest quilt, The Daisy Chain, the other day and I am please to say that I am officially finished with it. I’ve got the binding done, the label put on and I’ve even washed it. I love the way a quilt gets all crinkled up after it has been washed, don’t you? I am very please with the way it turned out. Now I just need to decide what kind of quilt to make next…

My Favorite Quilt

I am new to quilting and I love it. I became addicted instantly! I started taking lessons from a great teacher last summer at my favorite local shop; Knit One, Smock Too and my life has not been the same since! Quilting has opened me up to a whole new creative outlet and I have made some good friends (and some good quilts) as a result. This is the second quilt that I ever made and it is my favorite, so I thought I would share it with you. I made it using a Wee Play jelly roll by Sandy Klop of American Jane and a pattern from this book.
The weather was nice today after several days of rain, so my husband, little boy and I took a walk around the farm. I found the perfect place and the perfect models to take some shots of my quilt! I think little Jenny, our donkey, likes this quilt too!

Daisy Chain

This is my latest project. It is a Daisy Chain quilt I made using a pattern from this book and two Woodland Bloom jelly rolls by Lila Tueller for Moda Fabrics . I just got it back from the longarm quilter and have to finish sewing the binding down, but I couldn’t wait to show it off.
