Day 4 and Holding

Today is the fourth day I am stuck in the house due to bad weather. It is freezing rain this morning and the roads are still bad, so I will not be going anywhere today. I’m over it! I mean, I have been getting tons for sewing done, but I’m over being stuck in the house. I like to have the freedom to go whenever I want. Ahhh! I might actually take a ride with my hubby while he clears the snow off of a parking lot. Not the most fun thing in the world, but at least I will get out of the house for a bit. On that note, I did actually get showered and dressed this morning so I guess I would be prepared if I did go watch him clear a snowy lot. I can take my 9-patch that I got quilted yesterday and work on sewing the binding down. If my finger holds up (I can’t seem to sew using a thimble) I might just have this quilt checked off my list by tomorrow. I will say, snowy days have been good for getting me focused on getting UFO’s done.

I don’t like using a thimble either. I sometimes put a bandaid on my middle finger (that’s the one I use to push my needle through.) That way I can feel what I am doing but not get such a cut-up finger. It’s a beautiful quilt!

Darling, lick the end of your finger before you put your thimble on and it will stay secure and be so happy! It feels (and looks) ridiculous, but it’ll keep that pesky thing on. Push with the SIDE of the timble, not the top and you’ll be so happy that your thimble is now your best best sewing buddy!
