Reversible Camera Strap Tutorial

I told you I have been in a little bit of a sewing frenzy lately! I need to be on a sewing frenzy, instead of what seems to be my pregnancy induced feeding frenzy. I went for my check up the other day and found out that at my 22nd week, I have gained 9 pounds. I know what you’re thinking… 9 pounds is not bad at all. I agree, it’s not bad. The only problem is that I gained 8 of those 9 pounds in the last month. Yikes! So to keep me from eating non-stop, I got to work putting this tutorial together. I hope you enjoy it. Who knows, there might be more tutorials to come. I have a bunch of ideas swimming around this head of mine.

New Tutorial!

I like it so much I thought I should do a little tutorial on it for you guys. You can find it on the side bar or here.
Let me know if I made any mistakes or if you have any problems or questions.
Enjoy!

In the Groove

Okay, I’ve gotten a few more things made for the Flaunt event. I feel like I have gotten into a groove and have been the most productive I have been in a long time. I’m actually getting into it and having fun. It is fun to just create.
Wait- stop the train! It is 10:00 pm on Tuesday night and I just realized that the new Real Housewives of Atlanta is on. “Who’s gonna check me, Boo?” Love it! Gotta go!

Flaunting It

I have been very busy in the “sweat shop” for the last couple of weeks trying to get some things made for Flaunt, a handmade event sponsored by Karen Gray Design. It is from 10-4 on October 23rd at Reynolda Village. I start working at furniture market at the end of the week, so it looks like it is crunch time. I’m not much for pulling all nighters like I used to, so I have been trying to stay focused during the day to get things done. That means staying clear of the internet, phone, t.v. and anything else that could distract me, which trust me, is not hard to do. Hopefully, I’ll sell a bunch of stuff, but if I don’t, look for a long overdue update to my Etsy shop.

Head of the Class

I get to teach some classes at Karen Gray Design so I have been busy getting some samples made up. Tomorrow is a Patchwork Belt class where we get to make these cute belts. They are quick to make and I think would make perfect Christmas Gifts.
These cute little Ric-Rac Napkins are also on the schedule for October and November and I think they would make great little gifts, too.

Check out Karen Gray Design for her new October/November class schedule. She has tons of great classes just in time for the holidays. It is loaded with tons of gift ideas.

Pears Please

The Forsyth Piecers and Quilters Guild that I belong to participates in the Brenner Tree Project every year to help raise money for the Brenner Children’s Hospital. People from the community decorate Christmas trees that are then auctioned off to community members. It is a great project for a great cause. This year we are doing a Partridge in a Pear Tree themed tree. Some of the ladies got together with me last Friday and made these beautiful pears. Don’t they look so delicious! Only about 75 more to make. Shew!

Score!

Can you believe what my brother-in-law found in his grandmother’s house… a white featherweight! He gave it to me yesterday and I have already been sewing on it. It is in perfect condition. I don’t think his grandmother ever used it. It sews perfectly. It even has the original key for the case. I feel like I hit the lotto. It’s funny what can make some people happy. This makes me happy!

Sunday Sewing

I cannot tell you how long this quilt has been on my UFO list and I have put my mind to it to get it done. Today I finally got the main part of the quilt top finished. Or at least I think it’s finished. I have been ignoring that little voice in the back of my head that keeps saying I need to add another row to the bottom before I put on the borders. I’m ignoring it because that would mean I would have to make 20 more triangles so I could make 5 more blocks. Ehhh. I know that 20 triangles isn’t that much more when I have made so many already, but I feel like it has taken me fooore-v-e-r just to get to this point. The thought of having to make more just makes me tired. I should just slap a border on this sucker and check it off my UFO list. Right?!? Too bad that same little voice is also saying that a pretty pieced border out of all my scraps would be nice too. Oh, what to do, what to do?!? I think I better sleep on it. I could be easily persuaded, though.

Tote Bag Tutorial

Hi All! As promised, I put together a tutorial for the tote bag that I made for teacher’s gifts. It is really simple to make. I put the tutorial together kind of quickly, so I apologize in advance for any mistakes. Also, usually it is just easier for me to do something than to actually try to explain how to do it, so let me know if there is something in the instructions that doesn’t make sense.
I hope you all enjoy it! Just click here for the tutorial or you can find it on my sidebar, as well.

Sunday Sewing

My friend needed gifts for her son’s teachers and she asked me to make some tote bags for them. Things have been busy around here (as usual) and my goal was to get these made today. It has been a while since I have spent the day in my sewing room working on sewing bags and it was kind of a nice change. Now that these are finished, I can focus on getting ready for my exciting trip. My boss lady is taking me with her to Minneapolis this coming weekend for Quilt Market! (Jealous much!?!) I can’t wait. I have never been to Quilt Market or Minneapolis before. We have big plans. Now all I need to do is figure out how I am going to pack everything in a tiny carry-on bag!
