Doing Cartwheels

 I put together the first block of the Cartwheel Quilt.
The templates I had made really did make the whole process so much easier. I went to my local glass shop and they cut them out of some plexi-glass. I highly recommend it. There are a few other quilts that I would like to make that require templates and I will definitely be getting them made. I went to Pfaff’s, if you are local and interested in have some made for yourself.

Urban Candy

Sunday Sewing

 I finished putting this Patchwork Chevron Quilt together today. I made it following this tutorial from Moda Bake Shop. I added a few blocks to it so that it would fit on a king-size bed.
I am getting some acrylic templates cut for the Cartwheel Quilt (see previous post) and they will not be ready until Monday. I thought maybe I should try to get this quilt completed while I waited for the templates. This quilt uses fabric from Denyse Schmidt’s Hope Valley and Flea Market Fancy. It is going to go on my bed. I think I am just going to add one more row to the side to make it a tad bit wider. If I get really ambitious, I think I should make some matching pillow shams.

Shoeman’s Puzzle

I finished quilting my friends beautiful Shoeman’s Puzzle today. I did some custom quilting on it.
Here is a little shot of the back. It is a stunning quilt. Kathleen did an amazing job on it. She is teaching a class on how to make it at The Little General.

Sunday Sewing

 I have been working on this Urban Candy pattern for the last couple of Sundays and sneaking in a few stitches here and there while watching the Olympics this past week.
I was hoping to wrap up making the top today, but no such luck. I have 4 more columns to go. Hopefully it will be completed by next Sunday. I am really getting the hang of these curves. The Quick Curve Ruler is so much fun once you get the hang of it. Believe it or not, this sews up pretty quickly.

Big Pimpin’

 My stitcher done got pimped out!
 I know I have already done a post today, but this is just so dag-um cute, I couldn’t wait until tomorrow to show you.
I made vinyl cut-outs using my silhouette machine and ta dah…total awesome-ness. Seriously, does.it.get.any.cuter!

Finally….

It has only taken my a year and a half, but I finally have the last block in my applique quilt done (12 blocks in all). I put the finally stitches in it last night while watching the Olympics. I wonder how long it will take me to get the blocks together and the border put on?

Because I Don’t have Enough To Do

 I’ve decide to make something to wear. I keep running into people that have made some of the cutest clothes for themselves and I thought I needed to get in on some of that action, you know, in my free time.
 The fabric has been purchased, the pattern cut out and I’m one my way. If I had planned a little better, I might have thought to maybe get some fabric that would transition into Fall. (That thought occurred to me after everything was cut out.)
I’ve made this dress once before. It turned out great, only it ended up being a couple of sizes too big. Don’t ask me where I went wrong. I went by the measurements on the back, but it looked kind of “tent-like”, if ya know what I mean. I am going to try it again (smaller size this time), because I just love this pattern and I think the dress is really cute.

Woobie Beans = Amazing

I participated in a craft show this past spring. It was full of local vendors with some amazing talents. I meet Kelly there. She is the talented lady behind Woobie Beans  – hand stamped jewelry. I love the look of the hand stamped jewelry! I am so glad to know that there is a local artist I can go to when I want one for myself or a gift. I love her work and I thought you might too!
