Birthday Boy

So this little thing right here turned 2 today. He was the littlest thing ever the day we brought him home. He came early and it was all I could do to get the little thing to even eat 1 ounce of milk. I had to use a dropper to feed him. The doctor called him a “wimpy little white boy”.  Now he is a big bruiser; as big as a three year old. Everyday he cracks us up and makes us laugh. Quite the personality this one has. Boy do I love him!

Christmas Portrait with the Most Cooperative Kid Ever…

I am being sarcastic, of course…

He refused to sit in the nice chair, so this it the one from the play table in the waiting area.

His dramatic reaction to the flash!

More Drama, until I found Hersey Kisses in my purse…. which explains the next picture.

Can you say, “Awkward Family Photo!”

At this point, the photographer wanted to change the backdrop and take more pictures. I told her I thought we had done enough. She proceeded to tell me that if I stopped now, “I would not get the whole portrait session experience”. OMG!!!lady. We just gave you the whole session experience. We gave the whole store the “Whole Session Experience”
So here is more to experience….

 and here….

and here…. How’s that for an experience?!?

She asked if they could have permission to use these images in their marketing. Oh sure, by all means, use these!

I was going to take him back in a couple weeks to get his 2 year old pictures made, but I don’t think so now. When he is older and is upset with me because I have all these pictures of his brother and not him, I am going to show him these and tell him this is why! (i.e. He is no different at the doctors office or the hair salon, hence the horrible haircut I had to give him.)

Dear Santa…

The Bob Timberlake Gallery in Lexington had their Open House today and we took the boys. Santa visits during the Open House and Fletch got a little face time with the big man. It looked to me like they were having a pretty intense discussion. Santa spent a lot of time talking with him. (Not your normal sit on his lap, smile for the picture, tell him what you want and out you go.) It was great!

Cuteness

I’m not the only one who got some new boots. These two little nuggets did, too. The littlest nugget basically refuses to take them off. He has even resorted to falling asleep on the kitchen floor with his boots on during nap time. He’s hard core! (Am I raising two little rednecks, or what?!?)
The quilting continues. Above is Linda’s quilt. It is made with flannel and it is mega comfy. I quilted it with the “tickle” pantograph and pink thread.
This is Katie’s baby quilt. She is due any day and made this quilt and a pink version. She isn’t finding out what she is having.
I quilted it with the “Outside In” panto and a light blue thread.

A Couple of Things…

So life around these parts has been pretty busy over the last few months. There is a lot going on, but I’m glad to be finally settling back in after furniture market. I have been trying to spend as much time as I can with these two little monkeys and I jumped right back into quilting, as well. I am trying to catch up from the weeks I lost at market. That being said, I have a few things to announce…

Kathryn’s Quilt with Maidenhair Panto

Rynn’s Quilt with Wrought Iron Panto

Wrought Iron
First- I’ve added a few new Pantographs to the collection, including a Christmas one called Holly Berries. You can view my new pantographs, along with all the others that I offer here at ginabeanquilts.blogspot.com.
Second- The cut off date for accepting quilts to be done with a pantograph design in time for Christmas is December 10th.
Third- At this time I am no longer accepting custom quilts. I am only accepting pantograph or all over design quilts. I am accepting pantograph quilts after December 10th, just know that they will not be guaranteed for Christmas. I will begin accepting custom quilts again at some point in 2013.
okay- so now back to the fun. Quilting. (I am trying to be better about taking pictures of every ones beautiful quilts as I get them done and will keep trying to post them. Above are a few that I have recently completed.)

Eighteen Months

I took Nolan to the doctor this morning. This is not an enjoy-able event for either of us. He looks sweet, but good Lord that kid can kick and scream. To say that he hates going to the doctors is the understatement of the century. Fletch never let out a peep when we would take him for his check-ups. He would hardly give out a whimper, even when he got shots. Not kid #2. We don’t even hit the door and he is screaming his lungs out. I tried to get Anthony, my mom…. anyone to come with me. Just to witness for themselves the spectacle. No takers. Fletcher braved it with me. The only way we could check his weight was for me to stand on the scale holding him and then the nurse holding him while I weighed myself. (You know that was exactly what I wanted to do….get weighed at the pediatricians. Oh joy!) End result… he’s healthy, he is a big boy. This eighteen month old is the average height of a 2 and a half year old. Doesn’t have to go back for 6 months. Thank goodness! I am going to schedule it so Anthony has to take him!

Birthday Boy

This cute little thing right here turned six last week! He’s a pretty awesome six year old! (and I’m not just saying that because I’m his mother)

Fletcher Rides A Bike

Sunday we went to my parents so we could have a nice place for Fletcher to learn to ride his bike without training wheels. (we live on a gravel road, not ideal for learning to ride a bike) He didn’t give up and HE DID IT! Yeah Fletch!

Baby No-No is One!

My little niece calls Nolan , No-No and we have all adopted the name. I was going to try to have a simple Birthday Party – just have family over for cake and ice cream. Well, if you know me, you know I rarely can keep it simple.

My mom gave me the giant Animal Cookies box and that was all the inspiration I needed. If I had given myself more than 2 days to pull it off, I could have gone way over the top. (if you know me, you know I could have gone waaaaay over the top)

Nolan is a great baby. He sleeps thru the night, he loves to play with balls, his big brother can make him laugh like crazy and he makes me happy every time I see him! We are all so blessed to have him in our lives. Happy Birthday, No-No!
