Cydney’s Metro Rings Quilt

mr1

Cydney was one of my student for the Metro Rings Quilt Class I taught at The Little General Fabric Boutique. This was the first experience my students had using Sew Kind of Wonderful’s Quick Curve Ruler. Cydney did an outstanding job and I had fun custom quilting it like Jenny, from Sew Kind of Wonderful, quilted hers.

Gettin’ It Done

I am focusing on trying to get my sample for the BOM class Kathleen and I are teaching finished up before I head to Austin next week. This has been a fun quilt to make. I have really learned a lot of techniques that are new to me to make it. Now I get to share all those fun techniques with my students.
Last up is the Lemoyne Star border. This is my first time making Lemoynes and I have to say….not as scary as I thought they would be to make. I’m kinda getting addicted to making them. That’s a good thing, too, because I need to make 20 for the final border. Easy Peasy!

NEW! Block of the Month Class Forming

The beginnings of my BOM quilt
I’m so excited to announce that the super fab Kathleen Baden and I are going to team up to teach a Block of the Month at The Little General Fabric Boutique. The class is going to be the 4th Saturday of every month from March – August from 9 – 10:30 am. It is $25 per month and we are going to be making Kaffe Fassett’s Imari Plate quilt from his book, Quilts in Sweden. The class size is limited and spaces are all ready filling up. Email me at ginabean@yadtel.net to sign up. It’s going to be FUN!

Weekend Workshop

I spent this past weekend with 4 lovely ladies teaching them how to quilt in my Beginning Quilting Weekend Workshop. It went great. The ladies were so studious and work really hard. By the end of the weekend each one had completed a beautiful quilt top. I am so proud of all of them!

Beginning Quilting Weekend Workshop

Hello All- I just wanted to announce that yours truly will be teaching a Weekend Workshop for those interested in learning to quilt.  The workshop will be November 17 & 18 at The Little General in Reynolda Village. In one short weekend, you will learn everything you need to know to make your very own 9-patch quilt top. Pretty awesome, huh.

A+ Students

I taught a great group of ladies how to make these metal frame coin purses this morning. Didn’t Linda, Courtney, and Amy do a great job! I will be teaching another class on how to make these on Saturday, August 18th from 9-12 at The Little General.

Beginning Quilting

This is the new quilt for my beginning quilting class at The Little General.
I will be teaching a beginning quilt class at the shop on Thursday mornings in September.
September 6, 13, 20 & 27 from 10 am -12 pm.
Students will learn to make this 9-patch top, a pieced back and binding.
All you need for this quilt are 9 fat quarters, 1 1/2 yards for the solid blocks, 1 3/4 yards for the backing and 1/3 yard for the binding. You can call the shop at 336-779-6155 or email me if you would like to sign-up!

Coin Purse Class

I am going to be teaching a class on how to make this cute little metal clutch coin purse at The Little General. This class is on Saturday, July 21 from 9:00-12:00. It is $45 for the class and frame kit. I’ll teach you the little secrets for constructing the purse and attaching the frame. Easy Peasy! Space is limited, so if you would like to sign up, you can contact Gina Fornecker at the shop (336-779-6155) or email me. I’ll put you on the list!

The Little General

Just a little post to let you all know about a great little fabric boutique open in Reynola Village. Gina Pozi-Fornecker is the new proprietor of this amazing shop. You will all love Gina. She is young, creative and inspiring, so stop by and see her. And pick up some great fabric while you are there! (I am a non-paid spokesperson!) I am going to be doing a little teaching there. I am scheduled for Beginning Quilting and a Metal Frame Purse class. Call the shop to sign up. 336-779-6155.

Head of the Class

I get to teach some classes at Karen Gray Design so I have been busy getting some samples made up. Tomorrow is a Patchwork Belt class where we get to make these cute belts. They are quick to make and I think would make perfect Christmas Gifts.
These cute little Ric-Rac Napkins are also on the schedule for October and November and I think they would make great little gifts, too.

Check out Karen Gray Design for her new October/November class schedule. She has tons of great classes just in time for the holidays. It is loaded with tons of gift ideas.
