Applique is not really my thing. I love the way it looks, but it is not often that I can sit still long enough to actually do it. I took on this quilt to get me out of my comfort zone and try something new. At first I hated it, but now I am kind of getting into a groove and enjoying it. (Having a great teacher helps.) I should tell you that I started this quilt OVER a YEAR ago. It is a slow process for me, but I’m getting it done. I finally got the main blocks put together and it was a huge feat for me. Now I have to add some pieced borders and a large applique border all the way around. I think when it is finished, it will be a 94″ x 94″ quilt. It should be about another year for me to get the borders done. (Not Kidding)
Your applique blocks are GORGEOUS! Remember, it’s not a race. Enjoy the process —

I’m with you Gina. Actually, you’re ahead of me. I haven’t even finished all the blocks yet. The things that great teacher gets us into…
Wowwee, you picked up the applique skills so well, it’s gorgeous. What does it matter how long it takes, enjoy the process and keep nibbling at it. Mine take years too and it doesn’t bother me in the least.
Gorgeous blocks! Keep it up!
Wow, Gina, you did a fabulous job. You have a great teacher. The Country Sunshine on my blog was by a girl named Carolyn. I don’t think you know her.
Wow, it is fabulous. It is looking good so far. There is hope for me to finish a hand applique quilt I started… ;0)
